The Program kicks off this year and is a special undertaking between Stellenbosch University and CSense Systems. This Program will, over a two year period, give post graduates an opportunity to rotate between working for six months on their master’s degree and receiving practical experience by working in their field in the employ of CSense.
Bursaries for the students are jointly sponsored by the University and CSense. The first students taking part in the Program are Erik Wolfaardt, Francis Ballot, Lidia Auret and Ashley Sündstrom.
Tjaart van der Walt, a director at CSense and an alumnus of the Engineering Faculty, said at the recent launch of the Program: “This partnership between SU and CSense will create an environment for young engineers to obtain substantial experience by actively working on commercial driven projects on a post graduate level. At the end of the two years they take away a Master’s degree but also with good, relevant experience. The CSense products are marketed worldwide and the students that are selected have the potential to become part of the team that will establish our product internationally.”
Four new students are recruited every year and adverts for applications to the Fellowship will be available in April this year.
